THE WORKSHOP

At the core of all spiritual, religious, psychic and transpersonal experience is an undefined energy surge. Tantra offers an elaborate explanation of the processes behind the transpersonal experiences. In the course of the workshop you will be introduced to the concepts of nadis, chakras and Kundalini. Developing the right perspective on these subtle energy channels, psychic centers, and the cosmic energy principle is vital to taking Yoga practices to higher levels and to finding fulfillment in life. Kundalini and Tantric practices provide to spiritual aspirants powerful tools for higher realization and enlightenment.

Tantra is a spiritual science, which provides a unique perspective on life, its processes and purpose. It offers practical techniques that speed up the process of human evolution and can be practiced by both men and women of every temperament and spiritual level. It aims at turning every action of life into an act of celebration and expression of the divine. It bridges the gap between the material and spiritual dimensions of our lives.
A proper understanding of the esoteric science of Tantra and the Kundalini principle can help you live a rich and fulfilling life, full of creativity and inner joy. Understanding the link between the body and mind, Nature and Spirit, Consciousness and Energy, Microcosm and Macrocosm using the concept of Kundalini Tantra will empower and enrich your life.
Join us in this opportunity to learn about the true meaning of Kundalini and Tantra from an Indian Yogi who has spent twelve years in the Satyananda Yoga tradition – respected worldwide as a foremost tradition of Yoga and Tantra. The workshop will be divided into two parts: theory and practice. The practice part includes powerful techniques based on the ancient Tantric technique of beeja (seed) mantra, and the energy flow through the chakras - a rare glimpse into the secret tradition of Kundalini Tantra Yoga.

This workshop is taught in the United States for the first time.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Swami Maheshananda Saraswati was born in Raipur, India, in 1970. Deep psychic experiences in his youth led him to his Guru Paramhamsa Satyananda and the Bihar School of Yoga, Munger - one of the most respected schools and traditions of yoga in the world. In 1995, he was initiated into the Dasnami Sannyasa Order by Paramhamsa Niranjanananda, the chosen successor of Paramhamsa Satyananda. Swami Maheshananda lived with his Guru for the customary twelve years, serving his Guru’s mission in various capacities. Now, as a wandering yogi, he travels around the world to lecture and to conduct workshops on Yoga.

In 1998, Swami Maheshananda completed an M.A. in Yoga Philosophy at Bihar Yoga Bharati, the first University of Yoga in the world. He has taught the philosophical and practical aspects of Yoga and Tantra at the postgraduate and undergraduate levels at Bihar Yoga Bharati as a Lecturer at the Yoga Philosophy Department.

Swami Maheshananda has conducted a number of Yoga workshops, on a wide range of topics and in various environments. He lectures on stress management, the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Tantra Yoga, mantra, prana, nadis, chakras, Kundalini, meditation, kirtan, Karma Yoga, Raja Yoga, Hatha Yoga, creativity, Yoga for Children, and Simple Yoga for happy and healthy life.

He has traveled around the world on a good will Yoga mission. Swami Maheshananda has experimented with advanced Yoga techniques for high altitudes in the Himalayas for the last two years. He is credited with being the first Yoga teacher in the world to teach Yoga to climbers at the Everest Base Camp in Nepal at an altitude of 18 000 ft, in April 2008.

Through his personal experiences, backed by his scientific training and temperament, Swami Maheshananda has the ability to present some of the most complex yogic concepts with clarity and openness, providing new perspectives that are unique and refreshing. Those who attend his workshops appreciate and enjoy his remarkable ability to explain the essence of Yogic Philosophy in a lucid and down-to-earth style.
